Consistency is More Than Our Actions

Here's what the Stoics have to say about living a consistent life

You might have heard it a thousand times before:

"You have to be consistent."

"Consistency is key."

"Show up every day."

Which is good general advice and all, but what does that mean?

Does it mean we should exercise every day? Do our homework, or write, or study?

Sure, but this is only surface-level thinking.

The advice that is being brought won't solve the core reason behind "being consistent."

Too many people do this for the wrong reasons. I can almost guarantee that the reason behind it is that someone told you to, whether it be online or offline.

If you're starting a business, entrepreneurs might tell you, "You have to advertise every day."

If you're trying to stay healthy, the gym bros might say, "No days off! Keep pushing!"

There's nothing wrong with a little motivation to move you throughout the day. Everyone needs something to get off that couch and get things done.

But, everyone's lives are different. There's a different path for us all, and one piece of advice won't work universally.

In this newsletter, I will dive deep into the true meaning of consistency. These are the lessons I've learned upon studying Stoic Philosophy.
